Growing in Salford

If you want to be part of an Internet TV project about Greening Salford; if you'd love to know how to make a video or you want to tell the world about your growing project, here's you chance. People's Voice Media are running two ten-week courses at the Salford Innovation Forum in Frederick Road, starting on Monday September 14th and Monday 21st, between 4.00 and 6.00pm.

iMedia Course - Short Media courses at People's Voice Media Salford

Get a Qualification in media by joining our FREE Community Reporters Courses in Salford People's Voice Media is launching a FREE fifteen week accredited Media training course in September 2009 at The Energise Centre, 6 Douglas Green, Salford, M6 6ES and The Social Media Centre, Innovation Forum, Frederick Road, Salford, M6 6FP. On successful completion of the course you'll get a Level 1 Certificate in iMedia and be a recognised People's Voice Media Community Reporter. You don't need any formal qualifications but enthusiasm and basic computer skills are a good start!

A group of 'Ordsall's most eccentric'  discussing how they are trying to get some land in Ordsall for their community project to set up some local allotments.This show was a pilot for the VESPR radio project, showing how with only a couple of hundred quid you can get a mobile radio set up which will work to record out and about in the community and then put online.

Mike stood at the side of the road

What's the only media outlet that can take you from being down and out on the streets of Salford, to the fields of Glastonbury festival, via allotment planting, upstaging members of the public, and re-enacting a giant trout attack all in the space of 15 minutes? It must be Salford's answer to CNN - East Salford Direct TV. The latest episode has just gone live, so click the link and check it out.

Big steps playgroup.

Big Steps Playgroup. The playgroup meets in a large room and offers play activities for your over 2's and under 4's. There is normally two staff on duty with additional parent volunteers. Lots of toys and equipment are always available. Play groups meet at St Sebastians, next to the Energise healthy living centre every afternoon from 1:00pm - 2:50pm. The centre is bus stop adjecant and food is served in the cafe until 1:00pm.

Albert's of Salford Junior club

The club runs in Albert park changing rooms, (next to the all weather pitch) and especially suitable for 7-14 year olds. Usually a mixture of activities are offered from sports, to craft, and access to a games room that includes playstations, pool and table tennis tables, and laptops with internet access. The sessions are run by employed staff.
