Health Walk - 21st April

Salford Allotments Information on Council Website

Taking on an allotment plot is not all hard work and has a number of
benefits. Allotment gardening provides you with the opportunity to grow
fresh vegetables, fruit and flowers for you and your family at a low
cost.

Salford has a total of 630 council-owned allotment gardens located
at 22 sites throughout the city, including four self managed sites

East Salford Community Directory


In this directory you will discover over 60 groups that run activities for themselves and others in East Salford. Within this directory which has been created by local volunteers with help from East Salford's Health Improvement team you will discover a variety of groups. Some groups just for women, some just for teenagers. Groups for people who want exercise, groups for people who want to learn new skills,groups for older residents of East Salford.

All these groups have shared information on what they do because they believe that if you join them, whether it be in making pots, learning yoga or sharing stories you will make new friends, learn new things and have fun.

Friends of Chenobyls Children

A social group to help children of the Chenobyl fall out disaster.
Volunteers are required to help bring a group of children over from
Chenobyl each year

Phone 0161 743 9024. Funds required to be raised are £8000 to
bring 12 children over for a break.
